I decided to take
part in the December nail art challenge hosted by rose_nailpolish and
nailsby_bridget on Instagram and it was so much fun.
Dec 1st
- snowman
As I live in the
southern hemisphere December is the first month of summer so this felt a bit
wrong to me but I put a summer twist on this and I think it’s cute although the
snowman doesn’t look as melted as I wanted him to.

Dec 5th
– Christmas trees
So I was given this
gold flaky polish by a friend clearing out there nail polish and I thought it
was about time I used it, and next thing out know it’s the base to this design.
I did 2 coats for the base but if I was wearing it on its own I would use 3
coats.
I then did a tree
and lights on my fingers to match the theme then decided that since cats love
x-mas trees so much, why not have a cat on my thumb?

I found this theme a
little uninspiring as there are only so many way to do a candy cane design. So
I searched candy cane nails on pintrest and saw some people had done it with a
glitter background rather than just white, with that in mind I borrowed an
essie polish off my sister and created this look

Dec 15th
– presents
This is another
theme that I found hard for the same reason, there are only so many ways to do
a presents design. I’ve seen this wrapping design done before on pintrest
(actual websight http://www.nailmypolish.com/christmas-nail-art/)
and decided to do it myself then added some present to my pointer and pinkie to
make it a little more interesting.

- Santa
This design I was
excited about. I had the idea that I wanted to do Santa and his reindeer and
his sleigh, so I looked on you tube for hints on how to do this, I used

Dec 25th
- anything
I decided
after all this time we are in nail polish my nails needed a break so for this
theme anything I decided to do nails with only one coat of Base
coat - OPI nail envy to just give my nails a rest form all this.
I know this isn’t nail art and it’s the December nail art
challenge but I’m looking out for my nails and I’ve got a design in mind for
the 31st so all will work out OK.
Ok so I knew what I
wanted to do for this design. I saw this nail art design on Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/566609196849297668/)
of Tinkerbelle on the moon and I thought that I was the cutest and most pretty
nail design I’ve seen in a long time and really wanted to do a recreation. However
I am not the best at the details so I went with a fairy over the moon, not
specifically Tinkerbelle.
So how does this
fit with the theme? You may ask. Well the black I used was midnight in NY, which
has fine glitter pieces in it that you can’t really see in the photo. So I know
it’s not the traditional glitter new year mani, but I think this is adorably
cute and I really love it.

into the festive spirit.
