Dripping Glitter Nail Art

I have been wanting to uses this bright pink polish that my sister gave me a while ago and I hadn’t got around to using it yet so I thought it was time. I also have really been wanting to get some glitter on my nails recently as it’s been a while, so when I saw this manicure bye hello_glitter on Instagram I thought I would recreate it.

Reciprocal Gradient nail art and nail polish disaster!

I’m a big fan of Christine from simplenailological and she does this reciprocal gradient design (top left in above image) that I love so I decided to give it a try myself.

I was also at my sisters this week so I used all of her polishes. My sister also had this flaky glitter polish that I wanted to use as an accent nail.

Now all my nails broke while I was on holiday as I wasn’t taking as good care of them so that’s why they all look shorter. and i dint have my good camera with me so the photo quality is not the best (sorry).

Mike/ Mutt MotorCity nail art

My best friend and I love this show called Motorcity, it want very popular and only ran for one season in 2012 but it was so good that I still love it. Short version the burners led by mike drive in cars trying to protect Motorcity from Kane who wants to destroy it as he can’t control Motorcity.
So in the past I’ve done nail art based on all three of the five burners but not there leader mike. I’ve put it off so long as I dint have the right shade of green but I’m visiting my friend so I decided I would have to make do with what I have.

Jelly Sandwich Nails

So I watch jenny Clear Fox and MissHollyBerrys YouTube video on jelly sandwich nails and a year ago I tried to do it too. As you can see from the photo I chose a jelly and a cream polish that I thought it would be sheer enough to do this with and it didn’t really work. Recently I decided to try it again as I had this pink jelly polish that I hadn’t used yet.

Geometric triangle nails

I have been seeing a lot of these triangle styed nails around recently and decided to give it a go myself.
I decided to use chi chi salon formula -sophisticated sassy as I haven’t used this polish in a long time and decided it was time to try it out again and this random sheer nude colour from models prefer because I haven’t actually used it yet.

First polishes

So I was watching NailpolishBabyyNinety on youtube and she mentioned doing a first polish from each brand in her collection video, and I thought that it was a very good idea and so decided to do a blog post in that style.
Keep I’m mind my collection is relatively small (70 ish polishes) and that I’m only doing brans that I think people will recognises, I’ve got some polishes from random cheap brands that I’m not including in this post.

Nail stickers

Hi everyone,
As you may of scene in my recent haul post my friend Hayley got me 3 sets of nail stickers for my birthday. I have had sally hanson nail stickers before but not this Glossy Blossom brand. So I immediately wanted to give it a try.

First up I wanted to try the sweetheart stickers. I also brought some new OPI polish around the same time so wanted to use them as well so I peered the sweet heart sticker with OPIs Cosmo with a twist and this was the result.

Collective nail polish haul

So, sometimes Things happen and then more nail polish ends just up in my house. It’s a problem. So here’s a small collective nail polish hall.

At the start of January I went shopping with my sister and we made the mistake of going into farmers and they had heaps of nail polish on clearance so be brought 2 bottles each.

The first polish I got was Chi Chi my bad witch is a black jelly base with 2 small sizes of silver hex glitter and larger orange hex glitter that flashes green at extreme angles. I’ve had my eye on this polish for a while now and though I might as well pick it up on sale.

Yellow bead manicure

My sister passed on to me the Chi Chi pearl bead manicure clear polish as she thought she would hardly use it as it wasn’t very often she did bead nails and when she did she could use a normal top coat over the beads to hold them in place rather than the bead polish.
So I wanted to give the pearl bead manicure clear polish a go to try it out for myself. And to see if it could perform as a normal top coat as well.

Flatting/Leaving Home Nails

So I have just moved and left home which means all the furniture clashes, you get the most amazing retro designs and pattern. The family essentially give you everything that they no longer want and it all gets put into your new place as it free and you’re not going to complain.
So I got inspired by all this clashing and mismatched items and have created this manicure inspire by the house.

Decluttering

As I am moving I thought it was time to get rid of some of the polishes I no longer use even though I don’t have the biggest collection to start with (depends on your perspective) of 54 bottles.

First one is a gold glitter by coral colours that I got probably 5 years ago now and the formula is thick and gloppy now and I never think to use it so it’s time to let it go even though it was in my 10 nail polishes everyone should have.

Matte neon pink leopard print nails

So after seeing a lot of leopard print nails on Pinterest I’ve been thinking about doing another leopard print manicure for a while. Then I was thinking about what colours to do and this neon pink that my friend gave me popped into my head as I haven’t used it yet, and my sister had this shredded flaky glitter polish that I’ve bean wanting to uses. And then the inspiration keeps coming as I remembered seeing a YouTube video by Jenny Claire Fox called Matte Nail Art♥ Three Easy Ideas!  in it she put a matte top coat over a shredded glitter. And all these elements came together to create this look.

December nail art challenge

I decided to take part in the December nail art challenge hosted by rose_nailpolish and nailsby_bridget on Instagram and it was so much fun.

Dec 1st - snowman

As I live in the southern hemisphere December is the first month of summer so this felt a bit wrong to me but I put a summer twist on this and I think it’s cute although the snowman doesn’t look as melted as I wanted him to.

  •          Base coat - OPI nail envy

Nail polish staircase DIY

I have been looking for a better way to store my nail polishes. I have a collection of 54 bottles (judge me if you want) and they don’t fit on the shelf that they were on as well as I’m moving and can’t take the shelf with me. So I searched for a DIY project to make your own nail polish staircase and found this video by gurl.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WlXNymASck this seemed to be the best tutorial/instructions out there but it wasn’t big enough for all my polishes and it was in inches. So I modified the instructions and this is what I did to create by nail polish start case.
